Phase II Completion by Easter 2020
Well on our way…
Since this photo was taken, the roof was completed, interior scaffolding was completed and interior work is ongoing.
We’ve come a long way, but there’s still a lot of work to do. Our efforts will help accomplish the vital next steps in the completion of St. Joseph.
Phase II will involve bringing the building to functional completion, thus allowing the community to begin to gather and worship. Our goal in this phase is to raise an additional $250,000, which will pay for the following items, among others:
Doors and Windows
Electrical and Plumbing
Well (for safe water supply)
Painting and Landscaping
Basic furnishing (Pews, Kneelers, Altar, Sacristy, etc.)
Completion of Phase II of the Project will allow the community to celebrate Easter Mass in St. Joseph Church in 2020.
Phase III (final phase) will come later with the goal of bringing the Project to total completion.
Once completed, the new church building will be comfortable, modern, large, safe and secure. It will be a place where Diocesan Priests will want to celebrate Mass more frequently, because the Church will draw villagers from neighboring communities together for worship. St. Joseph Church will be such a blessing to the people of Umon-Okon and the Diocese of Ikot Ekpene for many years to come!
